🧠 Sandwhich (2023) Synopsis and Overview

The plot of the movie is primarily set at the beginning of the COVID 19 lock down periods. It is about a married couple named Edward and Ria (Luke Selby and Kat Dovey), who after a long predictable and monotonous married life invite a third person, Candice (Andrea Garcia), to join their marriage to spice things up a bit. It is clear that the marriage was struck by a desire to be adventurous, however, turns into a stand-off, spying, and emotions gone amok. The drama-thriller is directed by Jao Daniel Elamparo and is produced by Vivamax with a screenplay by Reynold Giba. It is a Filipino movie.

During the movie, no one particularly mentions any obsession untill the end and the last neighbor, Andrew (Nico Locco) a not very curious and quiet character, turns into their biggest creep. He literally sits with binoculars and watches the married couple turning him into a non-visible but substantially impactful character. He is a prime example of some of the selby work. His character bring a lot of initiative, however, the thrill makes the character emotionally distant.

Ria (Kat Dovey)

Ria is a nurse who seems to lack a sense of purpose and goes with the flow of Edward’s plans. Dovey makes Ria a character who is both desired and an emotional weight by combining sincerity and quiet complexity.

Candice (Andrea Garcia)

Candice is the younger woman who is a part of the triad. Her character functions as a mix of a fantasy figure and a spark of tension. Garcia’s performance has both appeal and discomfort, but the script does not give her character more complexity.
