As the title suggests, the trailer for Nosferatu provides an eerie glimpse of German expressionism and depicts enormous dread and shadows in the genre. Offering a new perspective, the intro makes note of the narrative and terrifying nature of Count Orlok’s castle in Transylvania. Orlok’s hauntingly thin protruding build and dreadful castle signal a story filled with lurking malice while the headless visuals combines with its scorning score to bring a sense of loftiness showing the pieces of a puzzle of how a centuries old evil looks to besiege an unsuspecting town in the trailer.

🔹 Synopsis:
In the quiet German town of Wisborg, a real estate agent named Thomas Hutter is sent to the remote Carpathian Mountains to meet with a reclusive count named Orlok, who happens to be his employer’s client. His unsettling figure gives him away as a cadaverous person with sinister intents. Once Orlok’s persona is revealed to him, Hutter can only hope for the things to not take a turn for the worse. To his utmost horror though, Orlok is a vampire possessing the desire to widen his curse. With the property opposite to Hutter’s house luring him, his gentle and innocent wife Ellen becomes a victim to Orlok’s predatory nature. Orlok’s journey to Wisborg is marked by his trail of death and plague. Meanwhile, Ellen, who is able to sense the nefarious evil lurking around, finds out that breaking a vampire’s curse comes with the price of self-less sacrifice from a pure hearted woman. In a heart-wrenching climax, Orlok is exposed to the first light of dawn and meets his demise. This retching act paves the path for cues to the salvation of Wisborg.
